Gluten Free/Casein Free Diet
Many parents of Autisitic children have found that the Gluten Free and Casein Free diet has greatly improved their children's symptoms.
The GFCF diet involves eliminating gluten and casein from the diet, along with Aspartame (artifical sweeteners) and mono-sodium glutamate (a flavour enhancing chemical). Gluten is a naturally occuring protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Casein is a naturally occurinng protein found in dairy products such as milk, cheese and yoghurt.
Many people on the Autistic Spectrum are also affected by Candida (a yeast overgrowth in the body). For more information contact the Autism medical website or call their helpline (01252 370257) between 10am and 2pm, term time.
